Welcome to 2025
Welcome again everyone to the 2025 school year.
As a Catholic School, our “Catholic Identity” is very important to us. You will see that prayer, liturgy and social justice make up important aspects of our school.
Sacramental Programs 2025
The Atherton Parish Sacramental Team run programs throughout the year assisting Catholic families to prepare students to receive the sacraments of Penance, Confirmation and Eucharist. This is usually done in Year 4 or older.
More information about the Sacramental Programs for 2025 will be sent out to Catholic families in the coming weeks.
If you have any questions about the RE Curriculum or the Sacramental Program, please feel free to contact me via email at mmaccallum@cns.catholic.edu.au.
Opening School Mass for 2025
Our first school mass for 2025 will be celebrated on Thursday, 6 February in the church starting at 9.30am. It will be an opportunity to pray together as a school community for the coming year. During this mass our elected school and house leaders will receive their badges and will be officially inducted into their roles. A special blessing will also be given to all Year 6 students in their capacity as leaders of the school for 2025. Parents are most welcome to attend this mass.
Prep students will attend part of this mass, however they will have a special ceremony to welcome and bless them next Thursday, February 13 at 2.00pm in the church. Prep parents are especially invited for this special blessing.
Weekly Assembly
Our whole school assembly is held each Friday starting at 2.30pm and is lead by our school leaders.
At our assembly this week, new staff and students will be given a bookmark with our patron saint, St Joseph, on the front and our school prayer on the back. Prep students will receive their bookmarks at their special blessing ceremony next Thursday.
We pray our school prayer each week at assembly. The words of this prayer remind us why we need to look after everyone in our school family.
Words of Wisdom
“If we love God, we will undoubtedly love our neighbour also;
they are as cause and effect.”
